Rushing Triangle
"Rush" is a two week recruitment event that is held the second and third week of school. This is our busiest time, as we hold the highest volume of events in order to provide plenty of chances for busy engineers to come out and meet the brothers. Everything during Rush is provided free, and is a pressure-free environment in which you can interact with Triangle and see what we are all about.
Typically, Rush events range from video game nights to sports to just hanging out and eating with the brothers. The variety of events is just a sample of what Triangle usually does over the semester.
At the end of Rush, the brothers usually vote to offer "pledge bids" to the guys that come out during the two week events. Should the bid be accepted, the potential member will then continue on to the pledge semester.
The overall goal of Rush is to decide whether or not the fraternity is worth spending a semester to get to know the brothers. Although a pledge bid can be given as soon as the brothers feel the potential would represent Triangle well as a pledge, it is rare for one to be offered the first time you meet the brothers.
Pledge bids are not given lightly, and taken very seriously in Triangle. Receiving one is a great honor.
